First
Link Program
First
Link is a coordinated education and support initiative of the Alzheimer
Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County,
in collaboration with the Geriatric Services Network of Renfrew County.
This program links individuals newly diagnosed with dementia and their
families to a community of learning, services and support. First Link
offers peer support and a progressive learning series with workshops
that focus on how to cope with a diagnosis, living day-to-day, caregiving
issues as dementia progresses, coping with behaviours, and end of life
concerns.
