Memory Ribbon 
Years ago, Loreena McKennitt's voice and depth of artistry in "The
Visit" etched forever in my memory "Greensleeves" as I
had never heard before. Loreena's music helped heal the deep wound of
my mother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease. In 1995, her music would
sustain me through my father's struggle with cancer.
Loreena McKennitt's latest album, "The Book of Secrets" is another
marvelous gift. "Dante's Prayer" is particularly poignant for
one raised in the Byzantine tradition. The words and music will swell
your heart with memories, and for each the song will bring a personal
solace. "The Book of Secrets" is Celtic in origin, but much
is shared in our collective music culture.
The
Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew
County
exists to increase the understanding of and most effectively alleviate
the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer's disease through patient
and family support, information and education, and promotion of research.
A contribution from you of $100 or more, made directly to the Alzheimer
Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County,
Memory Ribbon Campaign, will generate the engraving of your loved one's
or friend's name on the cyberspace Memory Ribbon. Your gift will support
the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and
Renfrew County’s
programs and services.
